Listed for sale is a single (multiple chairs are available, but the price listed is for each chair) JH 507 dining chair with arms, designed by Hans Wegner, produced by Johannes Hansen. This grouping of chairs came from Harvard University and are accompanied by thorough documentation showing the chairs in the original context. The chairs were purchased new in 1965 along with countless other iconic furniture for use in the Countway Library of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. The library is a monumental brutalist form, designed by renowned architect and Harvard professor at the time, Hugh Stubbins. The architect was known for specifying furniture meticulously and frequently used works by Florence Knoll, Hans Wegner, Eero Saarinen, and Nicos Zographos, among others.
